The fourth industrial revolution-4IR is being materialized centering the Internet. The transformation of industry no longer develops centering a seashore or a railroad. That is why the ICT department is setting up high-tech parks, Sheikh Russel Computer Labs and Education and Entertainment Centers across the country to provide high speed internet connection at the village level as well as to develop technology dependent skills. As part of this, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has announced to set up one Sheikh Russel Computer Lab in each educational institution of Khulna city.
He made the announcement while addressing as the chief guest at the ground breaking ceremony of Khulna IT / Hi-Tech Park at Tutpara in Khulna city on Tuesday.
"We have started construction of 33 out of 64 Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers," he said. The rest is in process. We are setting up modern education training and entertainment centers in every district where trainings, workshops and educational activities will be conducted from 9 am to 3 pm. And movies will be shown for healthy entertainment from 3 pm to 9 pm. So at a cost of around Tk. 7 crore, we started the construction of Cineplex in this high-tech park compound today.
The state minister also said that one lab is being set up at Joy Digital Service and Employment Center in an area of 5,000 square feet in the upazila headquarters to build a technically skilled manpower.
Palak said work is underway to set up 9,500 Sheikh Russell Digital Centers and Computer Labs across the country to impart hands-on education in technology education. Another 5,000 are in process.

Khulna City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq presided over the function while Khulna-2 MP Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, Information and Communication Technology Department Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Acting Assistant High Commissioner to Khulna Asim Kumar Santa, Police Commissioner Mashiur Rahman Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Talukder and others were present.
In his welcome speech, the Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (Grade-1) Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh said that work is underway to set up 92 Hi-Tech Parks / Software Technology Parks / IT Training and Incubation Centers across the country through Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. So far, 190 companies have been allotted space and plots in high-tech parks, out of which 123 companies have already started work and 151 local startup companies have been allotted free space / co-working space.
It was informed on the occasion that if the work of setting up this high-tech park on 3.6 acres of land at Tutpara in Khulna Sadar at a cost of around Tk.170 crore is completed, employment opportunities for about 3000 people will be created here.
